Be adette Mildred Kiewiet (nee Nyman) Was Bo In Claremont, Cape Town ,14 June 1961, But Grew Up In Bokmakierie, Athlone After Her Family Was Evicted Due To The Group Areas Act. She Matriculated At Mount View High School 1979. As From 2015, She Educated Herself With Creative Writing- And Copyeditor/Proofreading Online Certificate Courses At UCT-Getsmarter. She Is An Associate Member Of The Professional Editors’ Guild And Completed A Mentorship In Fiction With John-David Linnegar (author And Training Facilitator). She Has Been Chosen To Feature As A Writer In Their Upcoming December 2023, Quarterly PEG-Board. Her Short Story ‘The Crash’ Was Published In The ‘Write My City Short Story Anthology’ 2019. Her First Literary Novel Life’s Soiled Red Earth Was Published By Austen Macauley, 31st March 2023. She Has Featured In Their Year-end Magazine. Currently, She Promotes Her Novel At Library Book Launches, Schools, Writers- And Other Festivals, As Well As Online. She Is Busy Writing The Sequel Of Life`s Soiled Red Earth, Beyond Bitter Waters, And Has Also Completed An Anthology Of Short Stories, Which She Hopes To Publish Soon. At Her Home In Kuils River, Cape Town, The 62-year-old Grandmother Juggles Her Writing With Household Duties, Playdates With Her Three Grandchildren, Yoga, And Gardening. She Plans To Write Many More Stories, Since She Believes There Are Too Many Left Untold.
